About us

We build the apps we wished existed when we ran a store.

Shopify App Club started in 2019 in a Pune coworking space, after our own store lost a festive season to a plugin that broke on a theme update. Seven years and nine apps later, that grudge still shapes how we build.

How we work

Four rules we have not broken yet.

01
One app, one job

We would rather ship nine focused apps than one bloated suite you use 12% of. Each app can be uninstalled without breaking the others.

Theme-safe or not shipped

App blocks only. No liquid injection, no orphaned scripts after uninstall. If it cannot survive a theme update, it does not go live.

Support is engineering

Everyone who writes code takes support shifts. It is the fastest bug-report loop we have found, and it keeps the roadmap honest.

Local by default

INR, AUD and USD pricing. Hindi and regional language support. WhatsApp where WhatsApp is how people actually talk.

2019
The theme update that broke us
Our own store lost a Diwali weekend to a broken plugin. We rebuilt it ourselves and shipped the first version of Wishlist Club.
2020
First 100 merchants
Back in Stock Alerts launched during lockdown restocks. Support was two people and a shared inbox.
2022
Melbourne desk opens
Australian merchants were waiting overnight for replies. We hired in AEST instead of asking them to wait.
2023
Built for Shopify badges
Four apps met the performance and UX bar. We rewrote two others to get there.
2025
Austin desk, US pricing
PST coverage and USD invoicing, plus WhatsApp BSP partnerships for Indian merchants.
2026
AI FAQ Genie ships
Our first AI app, released only after we could show shoppers the source behind every answer.
