Honest scarcity: urgency that survives a brand review
Fake countdowns are a liability. Here is how to build urgency from real inventory and real cut-off times.

Urgency messaging has a reputation problem, and it is earned — a countdown timer that resets every time you refresh the page is easy to spot and expensive to a brand's credibility once a shopper notices.
A low-stock counter should read straight from Shopify inventory. A countdown should point at an actual cut-off — a courier pickup time, a sale end date — not an arbitrary 24 hours that restarts on reload. If you cannot defend a number to your own brand team, do not show it to a shopper.
What reads as helpful urgency in one market can read as pressure tactics in another. We let merchants set different display rules for India, Australia and the US rather than shipping one global default.
Urgency built on real inventory converts and survives scrutiny. Urgency built on fake numbers converts once, then costs you the shopper's trust permanently.
Urgency Kit only ever displays real, inventory-linked numbers.
